Marlee Tansley

MSW, Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist

Marlee Tansley, Registered Counsellor at NewCare Counselling

My name is Marlee Tansley, and I am a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Windsor. I am passionate about supporting individuals, children, youth, and families through life’s challenges and transitions with compassion, authenticity, and care. I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and collaborative environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, build on their strengths, and move toward meaningful growth and healing.

My practice is grounded primarily in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), helping clients develop psychological flexibility and reconnect with what matters most to them. I also have training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and family-based work, allowing me to tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each individual and family I work with.

I have a special passion for supporting individuals and families navigating adoption, permanency, identity, attachment, and belonging. As a trained adoption competent therapist, I bring a trauma-informed and relationship-focused lens to this work, recognizing the unique experiences and complexities that can arise throughout the adoption and permanency journey.

I believe therapy should feel supportive, empowering, and grounded in genuine connection, and I am committed to walking alongside clients as they navigate change, healing, and personal growth.
